My Favorite Non-Laker Players For The 2018-2019 NBA Season

Anybody who’s been reading some of my previous posts on this blog as well as on my social media accounts (check the About Me page on Silence Is The Enemy’s homepage) know how big a fan I am of the Los Angeles Lakers. They have been my favorite basketball team from any league since I discoveredContinueContinue reading “My Favorite Non-Laker Players For The 2018-2019 NBA Season”

These Laker Kids Are Figuring It Out

The LA Lakers have been one of the best teams in the league since the start of 2018, going 20-12 the past three months. After a slow start in October, the Purple and Gold have steadily improved game in and game out. Their offensive rating has risen considerably without defense, which was already solid to begin with, being compromised. At the heart of this improvement is the beast that goes by the name of Julius Randle. The future is bright for a team that fell on hard times after being so used to winning throughout the decades.

The Great LeBron Debate

LeBron James is the best basketball player in the planet and to have him on your team is obviously a very, very good thing. But oddly, some Lakers fans don’t want him to wear the Purple and Gold. If you’re one of those fans, I have a question: Why???

Dear Kobe Bryant – A Super Fan’s Farewell Letter

Dear Kobe Bryant Before Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, The Flash and all the other colorful beings in my comic books. Before all rock stars with their glorious hair and melodic screams. I had one hero. And that is you. To you, I’m just one of the millions of members of your #MambaArmy. ButContinueContinue reading “Dear Kobe Bryant – A Super Fan’s Farewell Letter”

Flashback Friday: My Top 5 Laker Playoff Moments

Since the LA Lakers are out of playoff contention, I figured that it would be cool to do a #FlashbackFriday post of my five favorite Laker postseason moments. Disclaimer: I am not old enough to have witnessed some of these moments on TV/the internet/in person/ as they happened as I am only 13 years old (loljkContinueContinue reading “Flashback Friday: My Top 5 Laker Playoff Moments”

PJax: The Lakers’ Savior (?)

Prior to the start of the 2012-2013 season, after the Los Angeles Lakers acquired Steve Nash and Dwight Howard, many have anointed the Purple and Gold as the obvious choice to win the NBA championship for that year and for many years to come. That’s hard to refute considering two top superstars joined the superstar duo ofContinueContinue reading “PJax: The Lakers’ Savior (?)”

Grading the Lakers’ Trade Deadline Activity

The trade deadline has come and passed, and like in the previous two years, it was relatively quiet. The biggest name to have been traded is the Indiana Pacer’s ex-franchise player Danny Granger, who was sent to the Philadelphia 76ers for Evan Turner and LaVoy Allen. We’re not going to provided in-depth analysis on thatContinueContinue reading “Grading the Lakers’ Trade Deadline Activity”

Lakers and Celtics: The Mighty Have Fallen

Any NBA fan worth their salt knows that the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics are the two most decorated teams in the history of the league. So it’s very understandable that these two teams have some of the most loyal and passionate fans ever. And it’s also understandable that there is bad blood betweenContinueContinue reading “Lakers and Celtics: The Mighty Have Fallen”

Should the Lakers Keep or Get Rid of Pau Gasol?

Ever since that botched trade (thanks to then-NBA commissioner David Stern and his #BasketballReasons) to the New Orleans Hornets (now Pelicans) for Chris Paul in 2011, Los Angeles Lakers big man Pau Gasol has been the center of various trade talks. For the past two trade deadlines, Gasol survived all the rumors of him heading to another team and remained a member of the Lakers.ContinueContinue reading “Should the Lakers Keep or Get Rid of Pau Gasol?”
