I scheduled this post to publish today, September 24, 2021. It would’ve been my grandmother’s 85th birthday. She died of COVID-19 almost two months ago, on July 30th. It wasn’t just my grandmother who contracted COVID, though. July wasn’t too kind as my mother, her brother, and brother-in-law (in short, my uncles) were infected as well.I wanted to write this for a couple of reasons – to give closure to those nightmarish 5 weeks, and to remind whoever cares enough to read this to take COVID-19 seriously.

Happy 1st Birthday To My Cat, Luka
My cat Luka, named after #FutureLaker Luka Doncic, just turned 1. He doesn’t know that because cats aren’t aware of the concept of time.
Story Time: The Day I Drank 10 Cups of Coffee
Coffee is an essential part of many peoples’ lives and I am no exception. It’s basically what’s coursing through my veins instead of blood. Of course, as with everything, there was a time when I was new to the whole caffeine experience and didn’t know much. My first coffee was in 2006, I was aContinueContinue reading “Story Time: The Day I Drank 10 Cups of Coffee”
Kennan The Storyteller
I’ve decided to share them on Silence Is The Enemy as part of my renewed efforts to keep the #content rolling.
These stories (which are of different lengths; some may be a paragraph long, others might require popcorn) will come at random (whenever they pop in my mind, which happens a lot, mind you), and won’t have a set weekly slot. To the very least, they will help ensure my whole “at least one post a week” thing doesn’t run dry.
Thankfulness All The Time
Let me start this post by saying I badly wanted to make a reference to Ariana Grande’s song “Thank U, Next” in the title, but felt it would inappropriate to do so in a serious article. Okay, moving on. Life is not always peachy. There will always be days where everything feels bleak and unforgiving;ContinueContinue reading “Thankfulness All The Time”
Happy World Teachers’ Day!!!
October 5th of every year is when we celebrate World Teachers’ Day. For a whole day, we remember the ones who have helped mold us into the person we are today. They may have different ways of imparting knowledge on to our brains, but the end game is all the same — to make sureContinueContinue reading “Happy World Teachers’ Day!!!”
Dancing Waiters of Yupihay
Today marks the 10th year anniversary of my class’ culminating activity for our Home Technology class — a formal dinner! Our section hosted the event for ourselves and the UP High School in Iloilo faculty. Some of the boys, namely myself, Dale, Alvin, Martin, Ace, Fama, and Niño acted as waiters (as part of the requirement to pass the class) and even did a little dance presentation to the tune of “Cherry Lips” by Garbage. The success of the event was the first step in our month-long journey to accomplish all requirements needed for us to graduate.
Remembering My First Panic Attack
Experiencing a panic attack first-hand gave me empathy to those who are plagued by mental disorders of various kinds.
Previously, I was aware that these things happen to a lot of people but couldn’t fully comprehend what made them so crippling. It was an eye opening experience for me, definitely.
I wanted to be honest and share this experience with everyone to spread awareness on mental health.

The Aftermath: Remembering The Day Kobe Went Down
On this day a year ago, I was in my room watching the Lakers take on the Warriors as the two teams tried to secure favorable playoff berths in the ultra-competitive Western Conference. Everyone playing showed heart but no one showed it more than the Black Mamba, Kobe Bryant (as usual). Prior to the fourth quarter, he hadContinueContinue reading “The Aftermath: Remembering The Day Kobe Went Down”
