Patrick Kennan, 33, has been blogging since 2007, when he uncovered the true potential of the internet. The very first blog he made was hosted on Friendster and was called “The Chronicles of the Saint” (an allusion to his self-proclaimed high school nickname and DotA gamer tag “The Saint”. He then moved on to other platforms such Multiply, Tumblr, and Blogspot (which is surprisingly still active lmao) under the site name “Silence is the Enemy” before eventually settling with this current blog on WordPress in 2012.

Why “Silence is the Enemy”, you ask? Patrick Kennan borrowed the line from Green Day’s 2009 single “Know Your Enemy” (from the band’s album called 21st Century Breakdown). To the author, by keeping silent on things, the spread of knowledge is restricted. How is one supposed to learn new and better things if those of us who have something to say just stay shut? That is the aim of this blog ever since its inception way back when – to help in the responsible circulation of knowledge. It doesn’t matter if the situation is lighthearted or serious, knowledge needs to be spread responsibly.

As a young Padawan blogger, Patrick Kennan would often talk about his various interests, including current events and politics. Unfortunately, the way he expressed his views were aggressive and full of raaaaage, which no doubt can be attributed to all the pent-up angst within him at the time.

The author has gone more mellow in his advanced age as a Jedi Knight, no longer letting said rage dictate the words that come out of his mouth. Most of the time, at least. His worldview and interests have grown steadily over the years as he steadily accumulated more experience in the real world. These worldview and interests will surely surface in one of his future blog posts one way or another.
