Well the Iloilo province lockdown has now begun. The official start was on Sunday, March 15 but people were given a two-day buffer period: out-of-town Iloilo residents can come home; non-residents can get out if they don’t wish to be stuck in the province for the duration of the lockdown.
Iloilo’s borders in Aklan, Capiz, and Antique are now closed and monitored. Sea travel to and from Negros Occidental has been suspended. So is air travel. The Iloilo International Airport now only serves cargo planes delivering goods and medical supplies for the duration of the quarantine.
People are required to stay in their homes unless absolutely necessary (medical emergencies, procurement of essentials like food, toiletries, etc.).
Here’s to our new reality!
