Everybody with a cellphone camera and an internet connection wants to be a social media influencer (some just won’t admit it). And while there is nothing inherently wrong with that, (you do you!) some would put too much effort for 15 seconds of internet notoriety.
A lot of times these individuals who take themselves way too seriously just cause annoyance to the general public, but some have lost their lives for the sake of likes and follows on Instagram. Dudes, it’s fun to be internet famous, but it’s not worth losing a life for.
My non-professional advice to would-be influencers: take what you do seriously, but don’t take yourselves too seriously. Just have fun doing what you’re doing. Quality content means nothing if it does not spark joy in you. This goes for anything really, be it in sports, work, etc.
And if you’re not into it, just don’t get into the world of social media influencing. You can’t just half-ass things. If you enter a new world, especially the creative ones, and you’re not passionate about it, you’re only setting yourself up for failure.
So with that in mind, here is me parodying social media influencers who take themselves waaaaay too seriously.
