There was a time when Iloilo had no flyovers like the ones we have today. The first one, called the Infante Flyover (named for one of the streets it traverses over) was constructed from 2007 to 2008. I was in my fourth year of high school then. When the structure was finished and opened to the public, me and my friends were already cocky teenagers about to graduate from high school, afraid of nothing, invincible.
What could possibly go wrong if we did stupid things? We were already about to graduate. What were they gonna do, expel us?

One day, me and a couple of friends saw a student walking up the newly opened flyover! This was a big deal back then because prior to this, all our roads were flat and the only inclined “highway” that we had were bridges.
Friends and I decided not to be outdone by that random kid, so we walked up the flyover one night on our way home from school. Pedestrians were not allowed to use the flyover by foot, so technically, what we did was illegal. Yeah, badass I know. 😎
Nowadays, nobody cares anymore. Early morning joggers use the flyover for their daily routine. So it was fun being one of the first few people to walk up there, being total badasses.
