Kurt Cobain was one of the most influential people in the 90’s, and he was incredibly reluctant about this. This reluctance to fame was probably contributed to him taking his own life in 1994, but his relevance and contributions to music and culture cannot be dismissed.
So many things have been said about Kurt Cobain, but for me personally, his individuality is what stands out the most. I’ve learned so many stupid things as an impressionable teenager, but the things that mattered are what stuck with me until today — Kurt’s preaching of “never be just another face in crowd” is one of them. Individuality is etched in my personality and I got Kurt to thank for.
So, happy birthday Kurt! Hope you’re rockin’ wherever you are!!
