The Los Angeles Lakers have agreed in principle to trade rookie forward Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk and a future draft pick to the Detroit Pistons in exchange for guard Reggie Bullock, per The Athletic’s Shams Charania. Marc Spears of ESPN added that the pick is a 2021 second round pick. The deal is expected to be finalized on Wednesday.
The Lakers needed shooters and while Mykhailiuk certainly fits that bill, he hasn’t shot the three ball consistently in in-game situations, despite having the mechanics to do so as evidenced by various videos of him shooting and making consecutive three-pointers in practice sessions.
Bullock on the other hand is averaging a career-high 12.0 points per game this season while shooting 38.4% from three for the Pistons and is exactly what the Lakers are in need of currently.
