(Un)Lucky Me!

Six years ago, I posted something here in my blog about the pros and cons of putting your luck to the test with lottery tickets and the stuff that I would immediately buy if I (hypothetically) placed a bet. The article ~does~ sound preachy and condescending, especially in the latter parts but I’d attribute that to my youth and naïveté, idealism, and lack of real-world experiences.

I’d like to think that I know a little bit better now, and would think twice before being all judgy on people engaging in lotto activities. Anyway, I celebrated my birthday last month by trying my luck at a lotto booth (lol). Okay, technically it wasn’t the actual lottery, where you place your preferred number combination and hope for the best. It was just those scratch it cards where you can win up to two hundred grand if you get the right icon(?) combos. I didn’t win because of course.

It did remind me of the aforementioned old post of mine and thought about updating the list of things I’d immediately buy if I won. The top two items on the previous list were a PlayStation 3 and an iPhone 4 — that was back in 2012 haha. Now I got a PlayStation 4 and an iPhone 6 sooooo I’m good.

Updated List Of Things I’d Immediately Buy If I Won The Lotto

  1. Airplane tickets to every single vacation destination in my bucket list (let’s talk about that on another day.
  2. Tour packages for every single vacation destination in my bucketlist.
  3. Concert tickets to all my favorite bands coming to the PHL.
  4. A good camera.
  5. All the PS4 games that I haven’t played yet.
  6. All the flannel shirts in H&M, Cotton On and Uniqlo’s catalogs.
  7. A saltwater aquarium.
  8. A house in Siargao.
  9. My own coffeeshop.
  10. Probably a new phone because my iPhone is like 2.5 years old.
  11. Probably a drone.

Guy can dream, can’t he. Also, in the words of the great CM Punk, “Luck’s for losers!”
