Kurt Cobain would have celebrated his 47th birthday today, had he not taken his own life one fateful day in April 1994. He, Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic were the voice of a generation, revolutionizing a new genre of music, encorporating the angsty, angry lyrics of punk rock and aggressive melodies. Kurt taught people to not give a crap what society thinks of them — just be your own freaking self.
